Pet Care Advice

petcare advice

The Animal Health Centre healthcare team can assist you with education, advice and care to ensure your pet has the happiest and healthiest life possible.

In order to keep informed on current therapies and procedures our veterinary staff and nursing team regularly attend relevant seminars and education programs.

Parasite Control

Dogs and cats ALWAYS have gastro-intestinal worms when they are young. They become infected through the placenta before they are born, or from the milk they drink while suckling. They also become infected by swallowing worm eggs from the environment, and some types of worms can even enter the body through the skin.

Worms can be so numerous that they severely restrict the growth and development of a young animal, but they can also cause problems in adult pets, and can sometimes even infect children. Regular worming throughout your pet’s life is essential.

Other common parasites that your pet may suffer from are fleas and ear-mites.

Animal Health Centre has everything you need to get rid of these unwanted passengers safely and effectively, and the staff at Animal Health Centre can give advice you on the safest and most effective product to use for your situation.

For more information on parasite control please see the section on "worms" and "Fleas" in the "Information" section of our website

Nurse Advice

Animal Health Centre nurses are also trained animal health advisors. If you require pet care advice without wishing to see a Veterinarian, please feel free to ask one of our nurses.

If they feel a problem is serious and might need veterinary attention they will advise you accordingly.

Personal.

Personal service is really important to us and this is an area where we shine due to our relatively small size and our friendly team.

Independent.

We run the practice as we have from the start, making our own decisions based on whats best for our patients and their family.

Focused.

We are Vets. We enjoy being Vets and this is our focus. We’re not a petshop with a vet in it. We don’t upsell treats, beds or grooming when you visit.

Comprehensive.

Our Animal Hospital and Vet Clinic is fully equipped and staffed to provide a complete medical and surgical service.
