X-ray and Ultrasound

At Animal Health Centre we make full use of available technology for diagnosis, and this includes specialized equipment for obtaining clear images of your pets insides.

Digital X-ray

Our X-ray uses a digital processor to produce a computer based DICOM image. This is extremely detailed and can be enlarged and manipulated without distortion so we get the best possible diagnostic information.

We undertake X-Rays, in both plain and contrast formats, to visualize skeleton and soft tissue structures within the body.

Ultrasound

We also have access to Digital Ultrasound at our sister clinic in Lower Hutt for examining areas where X-rays aren’t ideal. Ultrasound is better for some soft tissue studies and can be very useful in checking for pregnancy, bladder stones, and other problems within the abdomen.

Specialist Imaging Service

For specialized imaging we have access to a referral centre for when very advanced or expensive equipment is needed. This includes Computer Assisted Tomography (CAT or CT) scans, and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scans.

Personal.

Personal service is really important to us and this is an area where we shine due to our relatively small size and our friendly team.

Independent.

We run the practice as we have from the start, making our own decisions based on whats best for our patients and their family.

Focused.

We are Vets. We enjoy being Vets and this is our focus. We’re not a petshop with a vet in it. We don’t upsell treats, beds or grooming when you visit.

Experienced.

Each of our vets has over 20 years of professional expertise. Our nursing staff all hold National Certificates and Diplomas.

Comprehensive.

Our Animal Hospital and Vet Clinic is fully equipped and staffed to provide a complete medical and surgical service.

Convenient.

We’re centrally located and easy to get to. We also have ample free parking to make your experience as easy as possible.
